In observance of Juneteenth, Campus Martius Museum will be open noon to 5pm tomorrow.

Juneteenth is a celebration of June 19, 1865. On this day, those who remained enslaved in Confederate territory after the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation were declared free, thus putting an end to slavery across the entire nation. Today, it is an opportunity to reflect on the persistence and resilience of those who came before us and a reminder always to strive for continued progress.

Are you a traditional craftsperson, artisan, maker, or living history interpreter?
Museums in the Mid-Ohio Valley, including The Castle - Marietta, Oh, Campus Martius, the Ohio River Museum, and Southeast Ohio History Center are building a network of individuals and groups interested in participating in future museum and public programming opportunities!
We are looking for people who practice historically rooted trades and crafts — whether you use modern methods inspired by traditional skills or demonstrate fully historic techniques, tools, and materials.
Possible opportunities may include:
• Demonstrations
• Workshops
• Festivals & fairs
• School programs
• Living history events
• Summer camp activities
• Hands-on educational programming

Katie and Erin represented us today at Tourism Day at the Ohio Statehouse! They met about a gazillion people, caught up with friends from other orgs across the state, spent some time with mascots, and enjoyed breakfast with our friends from The Buckeye Trail!
