Dare Arts

Dare Arts Supporting the arts in Dare County through advocacy, enrichment and opportunity. Additionally, we offer prints, cards and collectibles.

Located on the beautiful Outer Banks of North Carolina, Dare County Arts Council is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to encouraging the arts in Dare County through advocacy, enrichment and opportunity. Our Gallery is located at 300 Queen Elizabeth Street in historic downtown Manteo, North Carolina. In addition to a gallery for established and emerging artists, we also offer workshops,

classes and performances. Just a few of our annual events include:

~ The Frank Stick Memorial Show
~ The Mollie Fearing Memorial Show
~ Artrageous Kids Art Festival
~ Rock The Cape
~ New World Festival Of The Arts
~ Veterans Writing Workshop

Our gallery features original works of art in painting, photography, jewelry, fiber, metals, pottery and printmaking. DCAC is also home to the Art-O-Mat, a re-purposed cigarette machine now designed to dispense tiny, original works of art. Be sure to check it out when visiting.

Artist Holly Gottenborg recently led a Power of Art workshop at the Baum Center where she helped participants create their very own wind chimes using beads, wire, and other unique findings. It was a fun class and everyone's wind chimes turned out so great.

Our Gallery Intern June heads back to school next week, and we are all going to miss her so much! Her positivity, organization, customer service, and computer skills have helped the Gallery thrive. And, her brilliant fashion sense must also be noted because fashion is art. We are so grateful for all of the time June has given to Dare Arts, and we wish her the absolute best as she heads into her senior year of high school! 💖
