Orphan Train Speaker This page is to honor my father and four of his siblings who rode the Orphan Train from NYC to Texas in 1920. I will share their stories.

They are the Lahn Children born to Ida Krug Lahn and Julius Lahn born at 10 Harrison Place, Brooklyn, New York. I do this with love in my heart for my father. I want to share my findings and documents and letters where he and his siblings talked about their birth parents Edith/Ida Krug and Julius Lahn. This is not an easy task as my heart is touched by their plight. My original goal with my resear

ch was to share with my family but I have since talked to many people who have never heard of an Orphan Train.....my father and his siblings rode the "Orphan Train"

Next month this page Orphan Train Speaker will be 9 years old. Oh, it doesn't carry a bundle of followers but thousands pass through each month.

I started this page to keep the Orphan Train Riders in the today world. Many have no idea it ever existed but next to that I wanted to share my daddy, honor his siblings and share my chase with minimal information to finding their birth family. It has been one of the most rewarding things I have ever done in my life.

Daddy and his siblings were very private people and lived humble lives. I do believe today they would be proud to know what all I have accomplished and would feel good about the things that have been shared here.

I hope you have learned something along the way. With that said, this has become not about just my daddy and his siblings. It is about family found. It is about my own mother's family and yes, in its in my own way a journal of my own life and research. I am not sure I would have done this had they not all been gone but they are. The thing is they are not forgotten. Their lives have been told and they live on as a part of history. They are survivors of a hand dealt them and became good citizens and more importantly children of God....They were never well known or rich but today I care enough to see that their memories live on.
