Thank you to the 40 wonderful people who joined us in the gallery garden this past Saturday for Jeanne Rosier Smith’s pastel painting demonstration!

It was such a special afternoon watching Jeanne bring a wave to life while sharing her process, techniques, and the way she studies light, color, and movement in the water. Seeing the painting develop step by step and hearing Jeanne explain the decisions behind it gave everyone a fascinating look into her creative process.

We’re so grateful to everyone who came out, asked questions, and brought such wonderful enthusiasm to the afternoon.

And a very special thank you to Jeanne for generously sharing her knowledge, talent, and passion with all of us. It was an inspiring afternoon in the garden!

Jeanne Rosier Smith’s solo exhibition, Seasons of Joy, features 45 pastel paintings inspired by the beauty she finds in every season, including dahlias glowing in a shadowy late-summer garden, luminous waves, sunlit beaches, warm light on fresh snow, and the lively streets of Paris.

Join Jeanne at the gallery this Friday, October 2, from 5–8 pm for a festive opening reception with art, prosecco, w**e, and hors d’oeuvres.

On Saturday, October 3, Jeanne will demonstrate how she paints light passing through ocean water in the gallery garden from 1–2 pm. All are welcome. Please bring a lawn chair!
