Long Beach Creative Group Long Beach Creative Group is a collaboration of artists operating a community gallery in Long Beach.

The Long Beach Creative Group at the Rod Briggs Gallery is a collaboration of artists and art enthusiasts operating a community gallery. We are dedicated to seeking out and exhibiting the work of the many emerging and established artists who live and work in the greater Long Beach area. We create space for artistic expression in the form of art exhibits, events, educational speakers, and overall u

nique experiences. We are dedicated to an inclusive approach that recognizes the contributions of our very diverse population.

Support our mission. We are a volunteer-run non-profit serving the Long Beach creative community. We rely on your support to continue our work. Your donation in any amount helps to keep the lights on, and present professional exhibitions for emerging and established artists. This link leads to a donation page, but also to the spot where you can sign up for our emails. We send out about one per week. Thank you for making our efforts possible.

This Saturday, please join us for the opening of our new exhibition, Reinterpreting Rod: Artists Create New Works Inspired by Rod Briggs's Paintings. The gallery will open from 1-4 PM, then host an artist reception from 6-9 PM.

Our curator, Cory Bilicko, did a fantastic job of gathering a diverse and talented group of artists for this exhibition, which features 10 paintings by Briggs, and 2 new pieces created for each one by the participating artists.

Rod's son Cameron has been involved with this exhibition, working closely with Cory throughout the process, and we're all very excited to see his father's work in the main gallery space alongside these interpretations. We really hope you join us, and invite your friends.

The Long Beach Creative Group is excited to announce that the open call for Off The Wall: Three Dimensional Art is now open. We partner with CallForEntry.org (CaFe) to manage submissions so, if you're interested in submitting work for our jurors to consider, please go here for application requirements and submission criteria:

https://opportunities.wearecreativewest.org/opportunity/17835/CAFE

If you haven't already created a CaFe profile, you'll need to do so before being able to submit work. There's a $20 submission fee. If the fee is prohibitive, please contact us and we can explore possible alternatives.

About the show:

Off The Wall is an exhibition focuses on three dimensional art of all kinds including, but not limited to sculpture, assemblage, ceramics and fiber arts. It includes art that exposes the great diversity of techniques, materials and concepts driving contemporary 3D art. The exhibition will be presented in the Rod Briggs Gallery, located at 2221 E Broadway in Long Beach, from October 3 through November 14, 2026.

This exhibition was proposed by Walter Focht who, along with Michael Biagotti and Bernard J Vyzga Jr, will serve as jurors. The deadline for submissions is August 30th, 2026.

Looking for an artistic experience this Sunday, July 12? To celebrate the photography exhibit at the Rod Briggs Gallery, "Before and After," Kay Alexander will host a session on how to alter a photograph. Bring a photograph with you, and she'll demonstrate techniques for altering it. There are plenty of examples on the walls in our current exhibit. More details are available at longbeachcreativegroup.org.
