Signs are up at the One:Eleven booth!
In a little over a week, I will begin lining these shelves with the pieces I've been pouring myself into these many months 🌹✨ To have them on display all at once is to tell a story of the year-- where my creativity lead me and what the spirits of the universe whispered over my shoulder as I lay hand on clay.
Maryland Ren faire will open for the 50th anniversary Aug 29!! Will you be there??

It's my one-hundredyeleventh bday, and I'm spending it Pennsic side!🔥
Wishing my loves out there near and far glorious, fiery leo energy to fuel your manifestations. Thank you for your love and support this past year for my creations. You are in many ways the match required to keep this creative fire going 🖤. I have many exciting things brewing in the cauldron coming up, I'm so excited to share and for you to be a part of it. Here's a bday request-- if you happen to be near an O:EP piece, take a pic (still life or with you in it too!) and I will post it in my stories or my feed even. I wanna see my friends and the pots please!! Much love to you! 🖤

Let me tell you about Severine Chenery...

Severine of the Oaks

Born into the French lower lordly household Chenery at the turn of the 12th century, Severine had difficulties assimilating with her noble upbringing.  Drawn to the wild growth of the family's vineyards, the lively barns and paddocks, and the beauty of the gardens, Severine spent much of her time amongst serving folk, always making fast friends through her generosity and curiosity.  The freedom of their lives compared to the path of her own: arranged marriage and the production of heirs, trapped in a stuffy manor house amongst equally stuffy nobility, seemed deeply preferable.
Opportunity struck when Severine's dear friend Laran invited Severine to visit her father's workshop. Laran's father, Duval, was the town potter. He supplied taverns, local manors, and common households alike with his finely wrought wares. Upon Severine's first visit to his workshop, she saw a world unlike her own-- a place where authenticity, creativity, and endless possibility could thrive. She touched clay for the first time that day, and snuck out of the manor every night henceforth to learn from Duval's prized techniques.
It was the following winter that Duval met with grave illness. Laran was left with his debts and an empty studio. Laran's only option for survival was to sell off her father's studio.
When Severine caught word of Duval's fate and Laran's struggles, she wept for her teacher and the beauty that he had opened her eyes to. She spent a week in mourning and misery before deciding to jump to action and make a change .
Severine was able to find the dowry her parents had set aside for her eventual marriage, take it into town and buy the pottery studio and all the tools therein. She gathered all the supplies, clay, and even kiln bricks she could fit on two horse-drawn wagons, left town and never came back.
Making pottery on the road, and traveling wherever the winds carried her, Severine made a name for herself and her wares in many a market. Eventually these travels lead to the edge of the silk road, and the promise of a grander life.

An enchanted fae cup for your journey in this realm and the next 🧚‍♀️✨ I've been thinking a bit deeply about my world and mythos as a creator especially as we approached Solstice time. This time of year I feel so deeply alive, I wanted to take a moment to share here on the cusp of the biggest creative push of the year. ☺️🔥
I see the world in a deeply romantic way.
It's a dedicated vision, I have to choose it. To be a more thoughtful human, experiencing the world through nature, beauty, feeling, etc.
I romanticize the flowers on the side of the highway (the way the breeze plays through them), the smile lines on a familiar face, the way the light plays in the forest.
I celebrate the changing of the seasons, like Litha, because they are noteworthy and potent transitions. The veil shudders back and forth. I always want to take a step back from the business of life and celebrate in the fires of love and compassion, the beautiful moonlight hitting the trees, the way a loved one says my name with weighty breathiness. The way the twilight shimmers on my skin. I see these things and feel an alchemical fire inside to make art ... To make art with that distilled feeling. And I convey that with color (glaze), intent, form, and pure raw energy. I want you to feel something akin to the sensual experience, the intensity that I feel, when I am lit up creating my work.
The weight of the world is bludgeoning, I prefer to be lost in 'sight''... A vision that supercedes the material world and tantalizingly dances in the 'inbetween.' What calls your attention lately-- what lights you up and brings you back to your core essence? I love to know these things about you 🖤

Blessed Litha, Blessed summer solstice ☀️.
I am officially calling these Navi cups! This is the one other glaze I will have available for this series. Which is your favorite? I will endeavour to fill my shops and online spaces with Navi cups when next we meet again🧚‍♀️🖤✨

Well hello there dear hearts! I am coming to you in a space of 'between': recovering from a beautiful spring season at the Virginia Renaissance faire and glazing/packing pots for the wondrous Oddities and Curiosities show in Baltimore, MD this weekend. Heading back to Baltimore (my old home) is very exciting, and I look forward to seeing all the gothy art goodness my friends brewed up this year. Come see us!!
Pictured here is a side quest mini series I created for the May Day Faerie Festival early last month. I really fixated on making a illuminating/airy piece that reacted to light source in a variety of ways. I also wanted a handle that read as a fae wing though was still comfortable to use. The series sold out very quickly so I would love to know if anyone would be interested if I made them for mdrf faire/pennsic/online offerings this year? Let me know! ✨
It wasn't until I was glancing through my camera roll that I realized how much this piece reminded me of Navi from LoZ Ocarina of Time. Iykyk🧚‍♀️ Given that we are blessedly receiving a big beautiful remake this year, I find this piece particularly exciting and apt to share hehe. Who else out there is ridiculously excited for the new upgrade/release?! Oot was a foundational, beloved, unforgettable experience for me. I'm still as obsessed as I was at 7 hah! I know I'm not alone in this 🧚‍♀️⚔️🔼🛡️🌱

The art and I now reside in a temple of sorts 🌹✨
Thank you for a wonderful opening weekend at the Virginia Renaissance Festival!! There was so much excitement and love, I am looking forward to the rest of the season with you in the shire!🏰
It was also the maiden voyage of The Womb, aka my new house/gallery/historical show tent/meditation space/allthingsgoodandmagical arena etc etc. Thank you for all the well wishes as I begin this next chapter with her. It has truly been a dream come true and I plan to develop and play with the layout as time goes on! Biggest shout out ever to for creating my dream tent. Gabriel and the entire team (some of them my dearest friends on this planet) are some of the kindest and most helpful humans I've met so far. I highly recommend their team if you're in the market for a yurt!

I feel as though time is barreling forward and I feel amiss not asking how you've been doing. Update me on life, are you getting up to anything that excites you during these gorgeous spring days? I'm enjoying spring in the studio and the garden outside of showtime, with a touch of travel planned for the future. What's quickening your heart these days my friends?

*Strolls out of her lil' art cave* So whatcha up to this weekend?? 😁😁
I wanted to take a break to remind you about one of my favorite events of the year--
I am beyond excited to reunite with Fae friends at the May Day Faerie Festival this weekend! Who will I see out there on the point?
Adding more magic to the air, blessed Walpurgis night, Beltane, and Scorpio full moon. ALL the feisty energies starting tonight and into the next few days 🌕🔥. Light the fires my friends... It's time to cleanse, release, and come alive again! 🔥
As an aside, I promise to be less quiet around this space! I have been a quiet-bert, working diligently and manifesting the next phase. I have much to catch you up on and would love to hear about your world as well (miss you greatly!). Talk soon, enjoy m'loves and see you with the Fae! ✨
