Two campuses. Five venues. One journey. Thanksgiving Point Institute is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit farm, garden, and museum complex that draws upon the natural world to cultivate transformative family learning. Using the natural world as a springboard for exploration, Thanksgiving Point combines place and process to shape today’s problem solvers into tomorrow’s makers and innovators. Thanksgiving Point is located at the center of Utah’s population growth equidistant between Provo and Salt Lake City metro areas. Alan Ashton purchased the land for Thanksgiving Point on Valentine’s Day in 1995 as a gift. The creator of the groundbreaking software WordPerfect, Alan wanted to realize his beloved wife Karen’s dream of building a community gathering place.

Mission: At Thanksgiving Point, our mission is to inspire the minds and renew the spirits of young and old by providing unique learning experiences, family-friendly entertainment, and opportunities for discovery in a safe and beautiful environment.

Thanksgiving Point needs your help to avoid extinction! Due to our closure, our budget was slashed from $24.7 million to $13.9 million. Youth Education programs like Summer Day Camps were reduced, staff hours were cut, and purchases of new equipment and supplies were put on hold. To keep people safe, we have added expenses of hand sanitizer, plexiglass, increased cleaning, masks, and reimagining our exhibits to align with state guidelines. Capacity in the venues has been reduced to 1/3 which has greatly limited the amount of revenue we can generate to make up for our budget shortfall. Donate now to kick us off strong. Are $2 Tuesdays happening in August?
how do you buy the Explore Pass online? it just offers each place individual with a time slot? are with the golf cart rental with a party of 5 can we put 1 adult, a 2yr old and a 6 yr old in on seat? or is it stictly 4 people total?
Is everything “hands on” open at the farm (pony rides, wagon rides, cow milking, etc)? Thanks!
I absolutely LOVE Thanksgiving Point and was so excited to go to the gardens today. However, this time we left completely stressed out. We have two young kids, one with Autism, regardless we tried to keep distance and even did well with containing our little ones, but it was extremely difficult. Each time someone came we stopped to let them by but only one other person did the same for us. Instead we felt like we were constantly trying to back away from people who were getting too close or going the wrong way in small areas. People were just letting their children run everywhere and into anyone, resulting at times in large groups of children blocking our way. There were even several children at the edge of the ponds and fountains soaking or splashing their hands in the water. We also had a time when we got off the path and then a child was allowed to block us from moving anywhere, as the child's parents didn't seem to be aware of it. Eventually, we just had to push passed the child. Then there was a group of people getting closer and closer behind us, so we got off the path to allow the to pass just to end up edith them stopping right in front of us for several minutes before letting us back on the path. There was also a large family that stopped on the path to talk and we eventually had to find a way around them as well. Finally before we left, my oldest needed a potty break and there was a young couple who just parked their stroller right in front of bathrooms without leaving room for anyone to go in or out of the boys or girls bathroom without getting at least 3 feet to them. They could have moved with ease one way or another to allow people through, but didn't, even when it started to get crowded. No matter how hard I tried, it was impossible to keep other people out of my 6 foot radius. The staff did well and were very helpful and considerate. However the guests just didn't seem to care if they were social distancing or not. I was very disappointed with our community. We will not be coming back to the gardens for a while now..... which is very disappointing.
THANK YOU for opening up. It was a beautiful night and the garden was even more beautiful
Mire tia Sabina Tovalin cheque que bonito,
When it will be open to the public?
I thought I saw a post about sharing photo of our best spring blooms. Is there a place to post?
Thank you for delivering these beautiful tulips to my home today! So sorry we can't visit this year. This almost makes up for it. 🌷🌷🌷
Is there going to be any kind of partial refunds for members since thanksgiving point venues are closed for who knows how many months this year? Or at least, will our annual membership not technically begin until you open back up, so we can actually get a year’s worth of access?
will you be doing a virtual tour of your tulip festival because of Covid-19?
Would you consider giving us virtual tours of Ashton Gardens (as Keukenhof is sharing) so we can see the various blooms emerging? Some of us will painfully miss that beauty this year. https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=657728908325779
