🎨 A love story built on a concrete slab.
Today, the studio is a mess, but my heart is so full. I’ve spent two full days creating here this week—a true answer to prayer while navigating some heavy health stuff, including kidney stones and a brutal pinched nerve.
When I first met my husband over a decade ago, he had big plans for this space. In south Louisiana, Cajun men live for their “outdoor kitchens”—the ultimate man cave for gumbo, crawfish, and cold b**r. But just a few weeks into dating, he gifted the frame and concrete slab to me for an art studio. To say I’m the luckiest woman in the world is an understatement.
Yesterday and today, I got paint on my hands and dirt on my clothes. I made mistakes and fixed them. The passion for creating runs deep in my veins 24/7, but nothing compares to the love in which this space was given to me. ❤️
If you are in a painful, less-than-desirable season right now, please know I’ve been there. Alone, married, divorced—there were times I didn’t think I’d make it through. But God answered my prayers, even when I thought He was nowhere to be found.
Keep praying. Keep walking. Someday you will feel the calmness and joy of simple pleasures you didn’t have the luxury of during the bad years.
Turn off the news today. Set the phone aside. Encourage someone, share your story, and thank God for even the tiniest glimmer of His presence. ✨

Sneak peek in my studio. It’s been months for me to get everything in order since I moved all of my studio “crayons”- as my husband likes to call them😂. Im still having some health issues but had a lot of help from my husband (he’s been wonderful through this whole process). It’s getting there…. I haven’t been able to hang everything yet. I love the display of my pigments. There are more in the antique refrig below (not in the photo). Then I decided to hang some antique chemistry glass tube holders I was given by a friend many years ago and fill them with colored water…it was a lot harder than it looked🤦🏻‍♀️!! But my desk is one of my favorite things. I also brought in my old leather sofa from my gallery along with one of the rugs and a chair to have a place to relax and for visitors. I now have a brand new flushing toilet, sink and mirror which took lots of ingenuity…it was one of those things you don’t know until you decide to add plumbing to existing septic tanks. I also have a wash sink and full refrig in the back. More photos coming soon! The last photo is a clock my uncle made in 1985. He was the king of wood and resin back in the day. On the clock is a priceless photo of my father and brother in the new building they had just built in my hometown which was my father’s auto parts business and shop. Both are deceased now. I’m so proud to have that clock hanging above my doors.

Religious icons are to remind us of Jesus Christ and His sacrifice for us. These are sacred religious pieces of art. This image as well as all others on my page are taken from my original painting and printed in acrylic ink on acrylic block. I created these under strict instruction by my master iconographer and teacher in Greece. I am excited to be able to offer these to the public. I do not sell my original icons as they are extremely special works of art. Real icons are ever signed by the artist because the main focus while we are painting these pieces is prayer and Jesus Christ. Therefore we do not sign them because we want the viewer to see Him not us.

Thanks to all of you who have prayed for me and sent good thoughts my way.
Thankfully, after seeing the urologist to follow up on my kidney infection and the possible third procedure, I was told that I do not need the third procedure!!!! After the stent removal and a couple of days of rest, I honestly feel like a new person. The doctors do not know how long that 12mm stone was in there but I passed a 3mm stone in November and believe it was there well before that. I also believe that even before the stone partially blocked a ureter I was feeling the affects. I was exhausted all the time. Never had any energy and then when my kidney became enlarged, I was down for the count.
So moral of the story, keep a watch on your kidneys!
Anyway, I’ve got lots of work to do in my studio to get it in order for my creative energy to start slinging some paint!
Again, thank you for your kind words and encouragement. You all made me feel very lucky to have so many that care about me. 💜

Hello friends! It’s been quite some time since I have posted any new art and here’s why. I’ve had several kidney stone procedures in the last month which should have been quick and easy but there have been some complications. Nothing serious but it was very difficult to get in to see a urologist and I was in a lot of pain so there wasn’t much I could get done in my studio. Then one procedure turned into two possibly three.
So, please keep me in your prayers as I am still going through this issue. I hope to be back to my studio very soon. I miss creating. It’s been such a vital part of my life for many years now. As soon as I can get back in my happy place, I will let you guys know! Hope everyone is having a wonderful summer!
