This little slice was cropped from the 1956 aerial photo by Mitzie. The main building in the center was the Case tractor dealer. I think the Las Vegas Hiltons owned the building which may have served as Hilton motors also and burned around 1971. The building was fun to explore, there were Case tractors and parts, we saw several crated Case motors and the office area was left like everyone had just abandoned the job, calendars on the wall and office stuff on the desks. The lot is the new science building at NMHU.
The three houses on the bottom left are gone, now an NMHU parking lot. My brother Mike and cousin Joe Olivas rented the house on the left in 1970-71. The NMHU steam plant is across the street.
Some of the older NMHU building are now replaced. Burris hall can be seen with scaffolding from the building process after the unfortunate passing of the original Springer Hall.
This is a fun one to explore by zooming the image, please share your stories of the neighborhood, I'm sure many remember those days.
