Last night was something special at The Filipino American Museum as we welcomed the Fil-Am Rondalla of Las Vegas for their very first Meet & Greet at TFAM.

Professional musicians came together bringing their traditional instruments—bandurria, octavina, laud, bass, and guitars. It was their first time meeting as a group. They tuned their instruments, talked about the songs they knew, and then they started playing. Wow! What a sound and what incredible talent!

And just like that, we now have the beginnings of a Rondalla in Las Vegas!

With nearly 250,000 Filipinos in Las Vegas, we are confident there are more Rondalla musicians in our community. If you play—or know someone who does—we hope you’ll join us as we grow this group and keep this beautiful Filipino musical tradition alive for the next generation.
