Lapeer Art Association Lapeer Art Association is an artists co-op in Lapeer MI, with gallery space inside Gallery 194. is a primary connection to applied fine arts in this community.

Since 1973 the Lapeer Art Association has held a commitment to enhancing the cultural life of the Lapeer community. Through our gallery exhibits, participation in community events such as Lapeer Days, the Farmer’s Market, the “Just for You” exposition and holding art fairs and sales, the L.A.A. The Lapeer Art Association, incorporated as a non-profit organization in 1975, was founded by local arti

sts who were involved with the 1972 Artrain visit to Lapeer. The L.A.A. has made a serious commitment to enhance the cultural life of this area by promoting, cultivating and encouraging art education opportunities.

Few more spots open for the last class in this series, the Wave, taught by our member Sue. Class is at 5pm tonight thewhitneycas downtown Lapeer.
Single class is only $30 and you get to take home your own masterpiece and some great knowledge of this art form.

What is Kinyusiaga?
Kinyusiaga is a contemporary take on the traditional Japanese art of Kimekomi. While it looks like intricate embroidery or quilting, there is no sewing involved! The process involves creating a design on a foam board base and "tucking" the edges of carefully chosen fabric scraps into pre-cut grooves. This creates a beautiful, padded, 3D effect. The result is a clean, professional-looking piece of art that celebrates color, pattern, and texture.
Class Details
In this 3-week journey, you will complete one art board per week, OR pick just one class. You can customize your collection by choosing from our four signature designs:
The Regal Cat: Capture the personality of a fluffy feline in fabric.
The Radiant Sunset: Play with warm gradients and bold patterns.
The Great Wave: Master the art of movement and crashing foam using cool blues and whites.

What a great day to head on down to Gallery 194 in downtown Lapeer. The gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11:00 am to 6:00pm.
The Lapeer Art Association artists and guest artists have filled the Gallery with plenty of artwork to admire and even take home.
