Lancaster County Council of the Arts Building vibrant, inclusive communities connecting arts, culture, education, and economic vitality!

Since our inception in 1977, the LCCA is known for our annual Art & Soul Gala, summer Arts & Sciences Camps for children, downtown art crawls, Paws On Parade, gallery exhibits and competitions, Ladies Afternoon Tea, and The Nutcracker Ballet. We are proud to be Kennedy Center Partners with the Lancaster County School District and the City of Lancaster, which ensures an annual plan to offer meaningful cultural opportunities for all students and arts integration methods for teachers. Meet filmmaker David Alvarado.

A Chicano documentary filmmaker and Stanford-trained documentarian, Alvarado has built a career exploring science, technology and human rights. His work includes Bill Nye: Science Guy, Blood Sugar Rising and We Are As Gods.

On October 22, he brings American Pachuco: The Legend of Luis Valdez to Lancaster.

On October 22, Southern Circuit returns with American Pachuco: The Legend of Luis Valdez, a documentary exploring the life and cultural impact of the artist behind El Teatro Campesino and landmark works including Zoot Suit and La Bamba.

Two months left to submit your designs for our latest public art project! Plenty of time to:

1) Choose a textile design that sparks your imagination.
2) Create an original piece of art inspired by the design - any size, any medium - just make sure the dimensions are 5:2!
3) Submit a photo of your artwork!

We take it from there! Selected designs will be printed large-scale and installed on columns along the beautiful Lindsay Pettus Greenway next Spring.
