History on Wheels is preparing for our 3rd Annual Thanksgiving Turkey Dinner Giveaway for veteran families. This year, our goal is to provide 150 families with a turkey and four side dishes—and we need our community’s support to make it possible.

Every donation, regardless of the amount, will help us provide a Thanksgiving meal to a deserving veteran family.

Nearly 4 million records of enslaved people across 20 former British colonies are now searchable online, giving descendants new opportunities to trace names, family relationships and histories disrupted by slavery. The collection spans 1813–1840 and includes records from places such as Jamaica, Barbados, Trinidad and the Bahamas.⁠

The collection is free to search on Ancestry under the Former British Colonies Enslavement Registers; Ancestry says a free account can be used to access it.⁠
