Our Lunch & Evening Book Clubs met yesterday for some wonderful discussions & camaraderie. 📚
We always love to see new faces, so here's a look at what each of those book clubs will be reading for NEXT month. You can stop by the library to pick up a copy of either book & be sure to mark your calendar for next month's meetings :-)

Our Lunch & Evening Book Clubs meet the first Tuesday of each month, at 11:30am & 6:30pm, respectively. We also have an Afternoon Book Club which meets on the third Wednesday of the month at 12:30pm. For more info., check out our website at https://www.jamestownpubliclibrary.com/book-clubs

Happy Banned Books Week!
This year’s theme is “Let Books Be. Protect the Freedom to Read.”

Each year, the American Library Association’s Banned Book Week aims to educate about the danger of book censorship and to advocate for the library’s role in creating collections full of items that serve our diverse community.

So, Let Books Be Adventures, Let Books Be Windows & Mirrors, Let Books Be Home, and Let Books Be Free!!

Happy October!!!
It’s going to be a fun & exciting month at the library, here’s a look!!

We’ve got 2 extra special events this month that we’re very excited about!
On Saturday, October 24th, we’ll be hosting a Fall Festival!! There will be a mini cupcake walk, crafts & games for children + a family movie. Costumes are, of course, highly appreciated & encouraged 😊.

Then on Thursday, October 29th, with thanks to our Friends of the Library, we are thrilled to be hosting an Evening with an Author! Mr. Cameron Kent, whom you may recall from his newscaster days with WXII 12, is the author of 6 books (with a new one on the way!). He will be joining us to talk about his books and share stories from his career. It should be a fascinating & entertaining evening, one that we hope you’ll plan to join us for!

It's a gorgeous Saturday & we're super excited it's Community BBQ day!!
Join us today from 3pm-6pm for some tasty BBQ (catered by BBQ Joe's) & music by The Pink Panthers. The upstairs Archives will be open to tour & our wonderful Friends of the Library will have a dessert table set up.
It's going to be a wonderful time & we hope that you'll come share it with us!!

The OJS Community BBQ is in 2 days!!

Here’s a look at what kinds of delicious food you can expect to find! Tickets are $15 (cash or check only) & can be picked up ahead of time at the Jamestown Public Library or they can be purchased on the day of.

Our Friends of the Library will also have a table set up offering scrumptious homemade desserts, donations appreciated.

It should be a fun & yummy day – we hope that you’ll join us for the festivities 😊!!!
