It was truly a delight to host members of the Womentum 2026 cohort for a tour of the "Women Artists of the American West: Colorado and Utah, 1885-1935" exhibition last evening! Engaging discussions, insightful questions, and a splash of prosecco contributed to a fun night.

This exhibition, collaboratively presented with AWARE : Archives of Women Artists, Research and Exhibitions, will remain open until July 4, 2026.

To book your own tour of the exhibition, please reach out via email at [email protected].

Congrats to Giveaway winner of 2 free Eras Party tickets !

Cameran and her guest will be joining us to dance under the stars like it's the 1920s in Jackson Hole!

From 1924-25, the Crandall family, alongside their photography business, operated a canvas‑sided dance pavilion with partial log walls as an entrepreneurial side business on the shore of Jenny Lake.

For two bright summers, Jackson Hole locals swung and swayed on Saturday nights under the stars. In this photo, Esther Crandall (from Cody, Wyoming) stands behind the sign leading dancers to the pavilion.

Did you know that Wyoming prohibition laws outlawing alcohol went into effect in June 1919 (before national prohibition started in 1920) and lasted until 1933?

Of course, like much of the nation, Jackson Hole faced hurdles enforcing the laws.

The Bar BC Dude Ranch, founded in 1912, featured its own still and whiskey bar to service its clientele of prominent writers, artists, and Hollywood filmmakers who were both Prohibitionists and Anti-Prohibitionists.🍸️

With or without alcohol, this photo of Crescent H dudes and dudines dressed up for a “Hard-Times Party” in 1926 shows that the valley enjoyed gatherings, putting together a costume, and dancing throughout the 1920s.

We hope you'll enjoy a Wyoming Whiskey cocktail or a mocktail with us on June 18 at our first Annual Eras Party: 1920s!

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT

We are incredibly grateful for volunteers like Madison, who help keep Jackson Hole’s history alive.

For the past two years, Madison has helped preserve local history through hands-on work in the Museum archives, including organizing historic photographs, cataloging scrapbooks, and researching the stories behind them.

A senior at Jackson Hole High School, Madison first joined the Museum through National Honor Society service hours and has continued volunteering ever since. She hopes to one day become a pilot.

“I absolutely adore my volunteering work and I look forward to it every week,” she shared.
