We are pleased to announce that Namgyal Monastery Institute of Buddhist Studies has been chosen as the official site of the His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama’s Library and Museum (DLLM). This will protect the legacy of the Dalai Lama and all that he represents to many mil

lions of people throughout the world. Its primary mission is as a learning center for scholars and practitioners of all faiths, as well as scientists, educators, and philosophers of all disciplines.The main purposes are:

- To serve as the central repository for the collected works of the current and all the previous Dalai Lama of Tibet. This is of immeasurable importance to those scholars who specialize in the study of Tibet and Buddhism.
- To house archived works of The Mind-Life Institute (MLI) and continue to support dialogue between Buddhism and science. The MLI was initiated by the current Dalai Lama and brings together scientists, philosophers, educators, and practitioners from around the worlds, to explore the relationships between Buddhism and modern science, particularly the science of the mind and consciousness.
- Committed to the promotion of human values such as compassion, forgiveness, tolerance, contentment and self-discipline.
- Committed to the promotion of religious harmony and understanding among world’s major religious traditions.
- Commitment to work to preserve Tibet’s Buddhist Culture, which is the culture of peace and Non-Violence and protect environment.

9:30 am - Arrival of Chief Guest – Robert G. Cantelmo -Mayor of Ithaca.

10:15 am – 10:30am - Introductory talk on the significance of the day by Ven, Tenzin Choesang - President of Namgyal Monastery.

It was a great honor to host Biri Gyal-sel la at the Namgyal Monastery Institute of Buddhist Studies – His Holiness the Great 14th Dalai Lama’s Library and Learning Center in Ithaca, New York, where he conducted a wonderful workshop for our Tibetan children.

The workshop was a tremendous success. Biri Gyal-sel la is an inspiring and gifted teacher, and our Tibetan students from Ithaca participated with great enthusiasm and genuine interest. It was heartwarming to see how eager they are to continue learning and preserving our precious Tibetan language and culture.

I would also like to express my heartfelt gratitude to all the Tibetan parents who worked so hard to make this workshop successful. Many generously volunteered their time to prepare delicious food and tea for everyone, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for the students and teachers.

This workshop has inspired and encouraged me. It has shown that, by working together, we can do even more to preserve and strengthen our language, culture, and identity for the younger generation. Our children are our future, and it is our shared responsibility to pass on these precious traditions to them.

My sincere thanks to Biri Gyal-sel la, the students, the parents, the volunteers, and everyone who helped make this meaningful event possible. May this be the beginning of many more educational and cultural programs for our Tibetan community.
