Meet Justin Storm! 👋

Justin grew up in Indianola and graduated from Simpson College. Her photography captures both what's familiar and the "best version of itself" in each subject. Currently in The Gallery at the Sagewood, we're featuring eight beautifully framed images of Lake Ahquabi. 📷

Chat with Justin in the gallery this Thursday from 4-6pm! Her work is on display through November 10 as part of "A Lens on Iowa," which also features photographers Tina Campbell, Grant Webster, and Mike St. Clair.

ATTENTION: Saturday 10:30am-1pm Gallery Hours… Artist Tina Campbell will be staffing The Gallery so, if you’d like to know more about her Iowa’s 99 Project, it would be a great time to stop in and chat with her!

Tina’s work is on display in the lengthy corridor— both sides!— and it’s great fun to hear why she never misses the Barn Tour, why she’s photographing Iowa parks, and ask her about her upcoming photography residency! (in I’ve forgotten what county 😬)

Writing Workshop – $15 Taster Class at The Gallery at the Sagewood

Join Al and Kristy tomorrow night for some creative writing fun! After putting our outline together, I almost wish I could sit back and play along as a student.

We're opening with one of my favorite creative writing group activities from my 20 years in the classroom. Will we have fun? YES! Will it serve a purpose and tie into the rest of the session? Absolutely! No matter what kind of writing you do, we've got a focus point guaranteed to sharpen your craft.

We're thrilled to announce that the Gallery at the Sagewood has received its first sculpture by Sue Cornelison: "Lost in Thought, Found by a Bird." 🐦💚

We're completely charmed by the whimsy here—there's so much personality and playfulness in every detail. That gorgeous green hair, the little bird visitor, the dreamy expression. The kind of piece that brings a smile and reminds us why we love art that celebrates imagination.

Summer’s “Small Batch Selection” officially opens tomorrow with the artists at the Gallery from 5-8pm along with lite bites!
