Meet two of the wonderful educators behind our Sprouts classroom! 🌱

Dr. Natasha Shelley brings nearly two decades of experience as a classroom teacher, assistant principal, and college professor. From teaching young learners their first letters to preparing future educators, she brings an incredible depth of knowledge and experience to Discovery School.

Ashley Devine brings experience in Special Education, Art and Physical Education, along with years of homeschooling her own children. She is currently pursuing her teacher certification and has a heart for play-based learning and helping children feel confident as they learn.

We can’t wait for our little learners to grow, play, and discover with Dr. Shelley & Mrs. Devine this year! 🌱

Meet Mrs. Traci Childs!

We are so excited to welcome Mrs. Childs to Discovery School! She’ll be teaching The Hive, our 3’s & 4’s class this year.

Mrs. Childs brings an incredible 29 years in education, two master’s degrees, and experience as a classroom teacher, interventionist, college professor, and Assistant Principal!

With nearly three decades in education, she brings so much knowledge and experience to our school, and we are thrilled to have her joining the Discovery School team.

🍎 MEET OUR KINDERGARTEN TEACHER | MRS. AUSTIN

We are so excited to welcome Mrs. Austin to Discovery School!

Mrs. Austin is a Texas-certified educator in EC–6, ESL, and Dyslexia with specialized training in MTA, SIPPS, and the Science of Reading. Her experience includes teaching in the lower elementary grades and working specifically with students with dyslexia, giving her an incredible foundation in early literacy, phonics, reading development, and intervention. She understands that Kindergarten is about so much more than academics. It’s a year for building confidence, independence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning.

And there’s an extra special connection behind this addition to our team! Mrs. Austin and our founder, Mrs. Owens, taught second grade together at Butler Elementary years ago. Having their paths come full circle at Discovery School makes welcoming her to our team even sweeter. 🥹

We can’t wait for our Kindergarten students to learn and grow with Mrs. Austin this year!

So excited for what’s to come… but we’ll always have a soft spot for where we’ve been. 🤍

These are the days that built Project Play; little uniforms, messy hands, belly laughs, and so much learning tucked into these walls.

As we prepare for our biggest chapter yet, we’re carrying all of this with us. New space. Same heart. Same magic. ✨
