This isn’t anything terribly special, but it’s the first experiment in what I hope will be my next commercial venture. There is still a lot of cleanup to go on this one, but I count it as a success. The yellow rubbery stuff is alginate, something dental folk are familiar with. Once the plaster has cured, the alginate just peels right off. The brass ball was immersed in the stuff along with my hand. Once the alginate becomes “solid“, it’s still slick and flexible, so it’s not difficult to extract your hand.

Okay, people...here we go again. Two weeks from this very day will commence my spring art show season. My first show, cunningly scheduled to happen at the same time, will be Arts in Bloom in historic downtown McKinney, Texas. Come out and enjoy some vernal delights.

In an attempt to help compensate for the current dearth of art shows, I have started accepting some commissions. I have no idea what this symbol means (and I don’t really care), but the customer was willing to pay me to make it, so I did. Yay, capitalism. Having said that, you may now assume that I am willing to consider any commissions for pieces you might want created. Send me a PM and we’ll discuss it.
