It’s a privilege to be back for a second year, this time asking children to draw their own heroes or color some notable African American heroes, Katherine Johnson, John Lewis, and Harriet Tubman!

Thank you The Heckscher Museum of Art for always being incredible partners and collaborators! A special thank you also goes out to our Board Member and Chair Barry Lites and Bruce Segal for their continued dedication to the museum and our community!

Step into The Liberty Trail, an outdoor journey where art and history come together in the heart of Huntington. As part of the Long Island Public Arts Festival (LIPAF 250), this free public exhibition invites visitors to reflect on the many meanings of freedom through striking, large-scale works created by New York artists.

Take time to walk the trail, discover each installation, and be inspired by the stories that continue to shape our communities.

As Barry reminds us, Long Island's story began long before European settlement, with Indigenous communities laying its foundation. What a beautiful Juneteenth weekend filled with community, culture, history, art, and celebration!

Thank you to everyone who came out and helped make this weekend so special. A heartfelt thank you to featured artist Robert Carter for sharing his incredible talent and helping us honor the spirit and significance of Juneteenth through art.

We are deeply grateful to all of our collaborators and partners whose support made these events possible: the Town of Huntington, the Heckscher Museum, the Juneteenth Planning Committee, and the Cinema Arts Centre.
