On Thursday, November 5, the American Heritage Museum welcomes New York Times bestselling author Adam Makos for a special History After Hours presentation celebrating his new book, “Tidal Wave”.

Released just two days earlier, “Tidal Wave” tells the gripping story of the August 1, 1943 raid on Ploesti, Romania, when American B-24 Liberator crews flew at extremely low altitude through fighters, flak, smoke, and fire to strike critical Axis oil refineries.

If you know Makos from “A Higher Call”, “Spearhead”, or “Devotion”, you know how powerfully he brings military history to life.

Hundreds of incredible scale models, competition, vendors, demonstrations, seminars and activities for young modelers come together this Sunday, September 27, as PatCon 2026 returns to the American Heritage Museum! This event is 100% inside, so escape the rain and join us!

Now in its third year at AHM, the IPMS Patriot Scale Modelers Annual Scale Model Show & Contest brings together talented modelers from across the region for a full day inside our Annex Aircraft Hangar.

See an incredible variety of scale models including aircraft, armor, automobiles, ships, Gundam, sci-fi, wargaming and more — from meticulously detailed competition entries to special display-only models and LEGO creations.

There’s plenty happening throughout the day:

• IPMS Model Competition with judging by experienced IPMS members
• FREE Kids Make & Take for children under 13, while supplies last
• Figure Painting Roundtable at 10:30am
• Hands-on Weathering with Oil and Enamel Paints seminar at 1:40pm
• Vendors offering model kits, tools and supplies
• Food from Kith and Kin and Lalos Mexican

PATCON-ONLY ADMISSION IS JUST $5 AT THE DOOR, with children 15 and under FREE with an adult admission. Cash is preferred.

Want to make a full day of it? Discounted combination tickets are available for both PatCon and the American Heritage Museum.

AHM Members: Regular museum admission remains free with your membership; the separate $5 PatCon admission still applies.

PatCon is RAIN OR SHINE and takes place indoors in the Annex Hangar. Parking is in the field, so please plan footwear accordingly.

Calling All Local WWII Veterans!

Every October, as part of our “Battle for the Airfield” WWII reenactment, we host a WWII veterans round table discussion, giving us the unique opportunity to learn about history from those who lived it.

This year, we are looking for as many local WWII veterans as possible to attend. The round table will be hosted once a day on both Saturday and Sunday, October 10th and 11th, at the American Heritage Museum, located at 568 Main Street, Hudson, MA.
