Two powerful symbols of liberty, brought together in one Arnold Friberg painting.

In "Moses & The Liberty Bell," Friberg pairs the biblical lawgiver with one of America’s most recognizable symbols of freedom.

Across the painting are the words inscribed on the Liberty Bell, drawn from Leviticus 25:10: “Proclaim Liberty Throughout All the Land Unto All the Inhabitants Thereof.”

It’s a striking connection between a biblical declaration of liberty and the words that would become forever associated with the American story.

Arnold Friberg's powerful image of George Washington kneeling in prayer now appears on the back of six Freedom Trucks traveling across America as part of the celebration of our nation’s 250th anniversary.

For decades, Friberg’s painting has reminded Americans that in one of the darkest moments of the Revolution, our nation’s commander was portrayed not in triumph — but on his knees.

Now that image is carrying its message of faith, humility, and dependence on God across the country as part of a fleet of mobile American history museums.

Many of the works come from Friberg’s private collection and are being presented publicly for the very first time.

In 1955, Paramount Pictures released "The Far Horizons," a sweeping adventure inspired by the Lewis and Clark expedition and starring Fred MacMurray, Charlton Heston and Donna Reed.

The artwork used to promote the film began as an original Arnold Friberg painting. For the theatrical poster, the movie title, stars’ names and promotional copy were added around Friberg’s dramatic Western scene — turning his artwork into an image moviegoers would encounter across the country.
