Saturday August 1 is our next “1st Sat of the month” workday at Historical Park, 8300 Airline Hwy, Tres Pinos. We’ll be working around the Cottage Bar, getting her spiffied up for the Good Old Fashioned Bluegrass Festival. Deck repairs,sweeping, dusting, window washing...you get the picture.
9am-12, meet up at the Cottage Bar. Bring your water bottle & gloves; we provide tools. All helpers are welcome! It takes a village to maintain a Village!

Step into California history at California’s First Theater in Monterey for a special free author talk with acclaimed historian John Boessenecker.

Boessenecker will discuss his latest book, Bring Me the Head of Joaquin Murrieta: The Bandit Chief Who Terrorized California and Launched the Legend of Zorro, exploring the life, violence, myths, and Monterey County connections surrounding one of California’s most legendary figures.

😖CANCELLED DUE TO CLOUDY SKIES 😖Another Star Party tonight in case you missed the one earlier this month!!! 😁6/26/26 at the Historical Park! Join astronomer Ron Ober and friends for an evening of star gazing. He’ll share his awesome telescope with you ( or bring your own if you have one!)

8300 Airline Hwy 1 mile south of Tres Pinos. Turn right at Historical Park Sign. Go through half-open gate and turn left at flagpole. Then right at 2nd gravel driveway. Ron will start setting up at 7:30.

Bring the kids & jackets! Dim your lights to preserve the night vision of others. 😉Prepare to see fun stuff!
