As we go through the slow and meticulous process of resetting the Museum (Retention and Deaccessioning), we are constantly finding items that have gone unnoticed. The plaque pictured in this post is a bronze relief plaque that preserves the memory of Cran Henry Wilbanks, Sr., a foundational leader whose work shaped the commercial, civic, and financial development of Holdenville and Hughes County during Oklahoma's formative post- statehood decades. C. H. Wilbanks, Sr. served as a core executive and president of The First National Bank of Holdenville. There is more info about the plaque where it is currently displayed at the Museum.

We want to give a huge THANK YOU to Charles David Leewright for his incredible generosity to The Museum! Not only has he supported us financially, but he’s also given something just as valuable—his time. More than once, he’s shown up to help our volunteers like a true knight in shining armor! 🛡️

And if you’ve stopped by lately… have you noticed our snazzy new door k***s? Yep—David did that too! 🔧

It’s people like David who keep our projects moving forward and our history alive. We are so grateful for your support!

If you’d like to be part of what we’re building, whether through volunteering or donating, we’d love to have you join us. 💛

We had an amazing group of volunteers from the Holdenville High School Key Club come lend a helping hand at The Museum—and wow, did they make a difference! 🙌

These students rolled up their sleeves and got to work removing old tile and carpet, dusting, and sweeping. Their hard work is helping us move forward on some much-needed improvements!

One of the most special moments of the day was watching a few of them light up as they discovered memorabilia connected to their own families. Seeing their excitement and pride in their history was something truly meaningful—and exactly why preserving our local stories matters so much.

Thank you, Key Club, for your time, energy, and heart. You’re always welcome here! ❤️

If you’d like to get involved or support The Museum, we’d love to have you—reach out or stop by anytime!

A huge THANK YOU to Stephanie Wilbanks for her incredibly generous donation to the Museum! Your support is helping us preserve history and keep our doors open for future generations—and we are so grateful. ❤️

Right now, we’re in the middle of some BIG projects—replacing our flooring and working to secure a new roof. These updates are so important to protecting everything inside these walls, and they wouldn’t be possible without people like Stephanie stepping up.
Thank you again Stephanie!!!

The Museum had a little facelift! 🤩

Our beautiful new doors are officially in, and we couldn’t be more excited! These were generously donated by Dan Powell, and they are such an incredible upgrade from the doors we had!

It’s amazing what a difference something like this can make!

If you’re ever looking for a great place to get away, be sure to check out Dan’s vacation homes—you won’t be disappointed! 🏡✨

Thank you again, Dan Powell, for your generous donations and support of The Museum!

We had a visit today at the Museum from Daneka Allen, Account Manager/Academic Specialst, who is with Jackson Mechanical Service out of Oklahoma City. She took pictures and measurements of our plumbing and electrical infrastructure, and we will be discussing in the future if Jackson Mechanical can help us in any way wih our infrastructure needs.
