The first Helldorado celebration, created in 1935 by the Las Vegas Elks, included a parade in downtown Las Vegas. Over the years, the parade changed locations, and at one point, Helldorado Days featured three parades during the weekend: a children’s parade, an “Old-timers” parade, and a “Beauty” parade. Although Helldorado Days ended in 1997, it was brought back with the help of the City of Las Vegas for the city’s Centennial in 2005.
This year’s Helldorado parade took place on Saturday, May 9th, from 10:00 am to noon, along 4th Street between Gass and Stewart Avenues. The event continues to celebrate the rich history and traditions of Las Vegas.
