I had to go to Delphi Glass in Lansing today to get glass for a couple of cool projects coming up. While there I splurged on 3 pieces of this glass, 2 are shown. It's a special run of glass, called Witching Hour.
The pictures don't do it justice! It's a red transparent glass with other colors of glass swirled into it, and has a rainbow iridescent coating on top!
I'm excited to create something with it, I just need to figure out the right project!...but that's after I finish my 2 special projects!

A process I did a lot of "back in the day" was pictures fired permantly "in glass." If you like the older look of sepia-tone pictures, you'll appreciate pieces like these. (I also do a process featuring colored photos on my fused glass...stay tuned.) This process is a neat way to permanently capture special moments/memories, in glass. Like a young child's picture and a later in life moment, graduation, wedding, etc. picture, and hinged together, to stand alone. Baby picture with birth details, special picture or verse made into a grave marker. Soooo many possibilities!

To do the sepia-tone photos in glass, you need a special printer. (My past printers wore out.) I'm in the market to buy a new printer so as soon as I find one to my liking, I will be making items like the one shown, and other ideas.

Shown, my Grandma's Cookie Sheet Cake recipe, in her handwriting. (This process doesn't harm pictures or recipes used.) 💗

They're open Tuesdays -Saturdays. Wednesday thru Saturday open for breakfast & lunch. Tuesdays they're open until 6:30p, and offer a Tuesday Special.
Look for them on the north side of Wayland on 10th St, at the Wayland/Hopkins Auction parking lot.

A glass piece I made using my mom's graduation picture. The process is neat, you make a copy of the photo, then print it with a special black & white laser printer onto special "paper" making a decal. Apply the decal to glass, fire it in the kiln, and you end up with the photo permanently printed onto the glass.

🟠🇺🇸🧡 I've been given 2 opportunities to share my glass art with 2 events this year, put on by 2 amazing organizations! The event this post is about is Camp Bright Bird, a dedicated group of people that offer a hunting weekend to Disabled Veterans. This will be my 3rd year making special art for these special Veterans.
