🍳🥞🍔😋 A shout out to one of THE BEST places to eat in Wayland.....Auction House Cafe!!! If you haven't eaten there yet, be sure to try it soon!
They're open Tuesdays -Saturdays. Wednesday thru Saturday open for breakfast & lunch. Tuesdays they're open until 6:30p, and offer a Tuesday Special.
Look for them on the north side of Wayland on 10th St, at the Wayland/Hopkins Auction parking lot.

💗 For Mother's Day, ...my mom. 🥰

A glass piece I made using my mom's graduation picture. The process is neat, you make a copy of the photo, then print it with a special black & white laser printer onto special "paper" making a decal. Apply the decal to glass, fire it in the kiln, and you end up with the photo permanently printed onto the glass.

🟠🇺🇸🧡 I've been given 2 opportunities to share my glass art with 2 events this year, put on by 2 amazing organizations! The event this post is about is Camp Bright Bird, a dedicated group of people that offer a hunting weekend to Disabled Veterans. This will be my 3rd year making special art for these special Veterans.

🙋‍♀️ It's been awhile! I hope your holidays were merry & bright, and that 2026 is treating you well!
I'll be getting back into my glass pretty darn quick, I had to take some time off, and honestly, I didn't want to run the kilns during the bitter cold spell!

Been thinking about the wildlife & the cold. We have many deer hanging out here, they really enjoy eating out of my birdfeeders...must be black sunflower seeds are a delicacy. Lol

This is the 2nd year I've made "suet in a mug" for the birds. When I say "birds," I'm good with birds, squirrels & deer enjoying what's out there to eat.
The internet shows these mugs with twigs as perches, even though I used sturdy twigs last year, I quickly changed over to sturdy dowels. The twigs were getting broken off by the squirrels.

It's quick to whip up the suet recipe, good for year round feeding. I'll post that in the comments!
