Today we'll be celebrating the life of one of our own members, Gary John Thaler. A guy who helped bring our Freeport Historical Society to life along with his wife Sue over the many years. He loved to look for historical items and information that helped our society grow into to what it is today. His love and passion for local history helped preserve our little village life. He loved this community, and was always ready and willing to lend a hand. Please keep the Thaler family in your thoughts today as we celebrate Gary life.

Reminder the Freeport Historical Society monthly meeting is tonight 7pm at the Freeport Community Center. Everyone is welcome to attend. Also the museum is open tomorrow from 1-3pm. New faces and old faces we look forward to seeing everyone.

Even though we had a mostly rainy day for the Freeport Homecoming we had a great time greeting new visitors and those that return yearly during our historical societies open house. We like to take this time to thank all our members who volunteered to make our open house a success this year. Here are a few pictures from Saturday.

It's here!! Freeport Homecoming! Come on down to the Freeport Historical Society and enjoy our local history, refreshments, and maybe purchase one of our books that has some of our local men, women, and history of this unique little village. You can also purchase postcards that are pictures of happenings over the years. There are some blank cards that you can use for mailing hello to someone or just hang onto them. (see earlier posting for prices) We are open 11-3pm today. It's always a great time to riminess with the locals.

Tomorrow's the big day!! Freeport Homecoming with lots of activities, our open house, and our quilt raffle. You can purchase the tickets from one of our members walking around town or come by the historical society and purchase some. Tickets are $1each or 6 for $5. Proceeds benefit the Freeport Historical Society. We are looking forward to seeing you.
