Still in the "mapping" and awkward phase. Often as an artist you think about turning back, starting over. But if you trust the process while blocking in, it will come together 💗

I am so excited to start this piece! This is another magical spot right down our road that I've been meaning to paint for years, and I'm always snapping photos. I've just started laying out, mapping lights and darks in the background. This time of year in particular, the orientation of the sun and changing leaves doesn't get any better 🤌🏻

10 x 20" painting on the go! One of my favorite spots. I've been going up to find the best lighting of this landscape up at Childs Bog, one of my favorite views!
Adding loons to this peaceful place. Hoping this will be finished for the Art Tour!

We had a great turnout at Harrisville Old Home Days! Thank you to everyone who stopped by.

Unfortunately the day was cut a little short due to the rain.

I still have these 9x12 bird series paintings available. A Purple Finch (they're not exactly purple!), an Indigo Bunting, and our favorite little Blue Bird. These are all New Hampshire native, the purple finch being our state bird. All original photos I painted from were taken by Phil Claire Gargan

These paintings are available for $125 each. If you'd like them framed they're an additional $50, but they are ready to hang as they are, since they're gallery wrapped canvas.

DM me if interested, I'm also available for commissions!

I think our little blue bird friend is done! A lot of little painting sessions in between baking and other things.

Here is a little trick I use, a homemade (stay wet) pallet. A takeaway container with a damp paper towel and piece of parchment over top. It should last a few days!

I'll have this and some other smaller paintings, cards, and wood burnings available at Harrisville Old Home Days on July 18th. I'll have a table all day Saturday.

Observing and painting these sweet little bluebirds. Thanks for this great photo Oupa!

There's been so much happening lately I realized I hadn't posted my finished painting which I'm calling "The Journey Begins." I finished it just in time for Mother's Day weekend and the opening of my DubHub show. This is my largest piece yet.

I've still been looking at it, wondering if I want to add anything to the background, but I like a simple background. I love the patterns in the skin, and the tender way the mother drapes her tail over her sweet little one's head.
