The good news is—we’re getting very close! 🎉 We appreciate everyone’s patience and support, and we hope to have our doors open again very soon.

We can’t wait to see everyone back at the museum down by the creek! ❤️

Stay tuned for reopening updates!

🎉 Celebrate Father’s Day at the Grifton Historical Museum! 🏛️

Looking for a meaningful way to spend part of Father’s Day? Join us this Sunday from 1:00–5:00 PM at the Grifton Historical Museum!

👨‍👧 Fathers — bring your kids!
🧒 Kids — bring your dads!

Spend some time together exploring local history, sharing stories, and making memories right here in our community.

We’re also excited to welcome local genealogist Roger Kammerer, who will be on site to talk family history and genealogy. What better day than Father’s Day to learn more about where you came from and the people who helped shape your family story?

Come enjoy an afternoon of history, heritage, and family at the museum — we’d love to see you there!

📜 Sentimental Sunday from the Grifton Historical Museum 📜

Check out these grocery prices from The Grifton Times, February 21, 1974…

🥓 Bacon – 99¢/lb
🥚 Eggs – 79¢/dozen
🍊 Oranges – 59¢ for a 5 lb bag
🥩 Round steak – $1.49/lb

And the headline reads:
“Taste Buds Change As Food Prices Soar…”

Seems like some things never change! 👀

What felt expensive then feels like a steal today—and it makes you wonder what today’s prices will look like 50 years from now.

💬 What’s something you remember buying “back in the day” that shocks you when you see the price now?

Come see more snapshots of everyday life through the years at the Grifton Historical Museum—where even a grocery ad tells a story!
