Jacob Houston Art Painting of the Month:

"Witchcraft Lake" (completed 2015)

October brings us haunted creations like the one that Jake has conjured up in this setting with skeletons, wolves, cauldrons, and a man who seems to have evolved into a mouse. Ever since Jake took a liking to and painted the most photographed hotel in the world (the Chateau Frontenac in Quebec City, Canada) a couple of years ago, he has wanted to travel to see it in person. This place did not disappoint on his trip to Quebec City this week. Here is a photo of his original painting as well as a few photos of the Hotel Frontenac.

It was a great week for Jake in his new gallery. His original painting “Sydney Harbour Bridge” sold before he even had a chance to attach the hanging wire. Kari and Mike honeymooned in Australia and were naturally drawn to the painting. Thanks to a very special couple- hope this brings back lots of happy memories as it hangs on your wall.

"Fourth Lake Gathering" (completed 2020)

August is traditionally a great time to head to a lake camp, and this painting, commissioned by extra special family friends, is close to my heart. My family has spent time each summer at their camp complex for as far back as I can remember. Gathering with wonderful friends in such a beautiful place...it doesn't get any better than this. Can you spot me, my dad, and my mom in this painting?

In honor of our country's 250th birthday, this month's "Painting of the Month" is a commission that was completed 10 years ago entitled, "Fort Ticonderoga". The fort played an important role in the Revolutionary War as Ethan Allen and Benedict Arnold captured the British held fort in 1775 only to have the British regain the fort in 1777 under General John Burgoyne. After the British surrender at Saratoga, the fort's occupants withdrew to Canada.
