Spanning from the mountain peaks of Mt. Rainier and the Tetons to the Atlantic Ocean and the shifting waters of the East End, Straus’s work captures the vastness of the American landscape. Rooted in light, atmosphere, and place, his paintings explore the fragile tension between natural beauty and environmental disruption, where memory, politics, and landscape quietly collide.
