One of our experienced instructors, Ryan, led a great short introduction during Steel Combat Club today! It focused on the relationship between direct attacks, complex attacks, and parry-riposte actions as an introduction to deeper concepts like the Tactical Circle. These concepts were recently revived in Michigan due to a visit from some of the top longsworders, and we appreciate their visit and the club that hosted them for bringing this information more readily to our state.
Steel Combat Club is a free bi-weekly meetup open to any current or former member of our classes, with a goal of offering tournament level sparring experiences. We start each session off with a short discussion usually focusing on modern combat concepts outside of the historical manuals.
