✨Featured Artist Julie Mason

Julie is an oil painter who has spent more than 30 years capturing those unforgettable moments and sharing them through her art.

She is especially drawn to the desert, where a lone saguaro against a brilliant Arizona sky can feel both timeless and deeply personal. Her landscapes reflect the beauty, stillness, and unexpected emotion found throughout the Southwest.

Her creativity has also extended far beyond the canvas. Julie once painted a life-size fiberglass horse that was auctioned to benefit the Scottsdale Rotary Club.

A graduate of the Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design, Julie has exhibited throughout Colorado and Arizona. She is also a member of the Sonoran Arts League and the San Tan Artists Guild.

We are pleased to welcome Julie and her work to Gold Canyon Art Gallery.

✨Featured Artist, Sandra Dennee

From raw stone to wearable art, Sandra “Sam Art” Dennee creates jewelry with skill, patience, and a true artisan touch.

Specializing in wire-wrapped jewelry, lapidary work, and artisan clay, she transforms raw stones into one-of-a-kind handcrafted pieces. From slabbing large stones and shaping each design to polishing the final surface, every step is done with great care.

Her work has been featured in movies and television shows including Firefly Lane, This Is Us, and The Long Road Home. Sam Art has been showcased in galleries from Seattle to Scottsdale.

Sandra has also been a featured artist and lapidary demonstrator at the Tacoma Art Museum and galleries throughout the Pacific Northwest. Today, she continues exhibiting at fine art shows across Arizona and remains active in the creative community through Artists of the Superstitions and The Artisan Group.

✨Meet Featured Artist Dean Grissom, an award-winning Arizona artist and author whose work is inspired by the Native people, history, culture, art, and traditions of the Southwest.

Dean creates each original piece by burning patterns into small wooden squares, then using India ink to bring the design to life. The finished work has the appearance of intricate weaving, but every element is 100% wood.

All wood. No weaving. Pure Southwest.

His artwork has earned recognition for its design, precision, and creativity and has been juried into galleries and exhibitions throughout Tucson, Phoenix, Tubac, Scottsdale, and Gold Canyon.

Dean is also an author of historical fiction, creating stories that reflect the strength, resilience, and beauty of the cultures that have shaped the Southwest.

Soda Tease is popping up inside Gold Canyon Art Gallery on Sunday, August 9 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, and everyone is welcome to stop by for drink purchases.

Come escape the desert heat, sip something yummy, browse the gallery, and enjoy a refreshing afternoon with us.

This pop-up is hosted by Gold Canyon Art Gallery and Your Gold Canyon as a fun way to bring more local flavor into the community.

✨Meet Featured Artist Sherri Congrove, an Arizona artist whose work is shaped by the colors, textures, and stories of the American Southwest.

Sherri began painting at just five years old with encouragement from her mother, an accomplished artist. She later studied at the Arizona Art School under European artist Joe Rogozen, developing a strong foundation in color and form.

Her work spans Southwestern art, abstract painting, sculpture, and clay. She is especially known for her Raku pieces, which feature striking metallic finishes created through a specialized firing process. Native American culture, Arizona landscapes, desert sunsets, and the contrast between the lush scenery of her Oregon birthplace and the open Arizona desert continue to influence her distinctive style.

Sherri’s work has appeared in major juried shows, studio tours, galleries, and twice in Phoenix Home & Garden Magazine. We are pleased to welcome her to Gold Canyon Art Gallery.
