We’re excited to showcase the artworks of Clare Kramer ‘21, Access Services Technician at hwslibrary , in the Solarium Gallery exhibition ‘she was a sure swimmer’! Join us for an opening reception on October 21st from 4:30-6pm to speak with Clare about her artistic practice and enjoy light refreshments. Have you ever wondered how the HWS Art Collection started?

Over 40 objects from the Art Collection will be on view from October 8 - November 7 in the exhibition ‘Celebrating Six Decades of Shaping the Collection’. An accompanying booklet details a selection of gifts and purchases that have built the Art Collection into what it is today.

Join us Thursday, October 8 from 5-7pm for the opening reception! A shuttle will loop between Houghton House and the Pulteney Street stop during the event.

The newest edition of the Art Collection Newsletter can be found around campus! 🎉

Grab a copy and learn about the career of George Bellows, a Donald Resnick ‘49 displayed on campus, Professor Nick Ruth’s favorite Jasper Johns in the collection, upcoming Pop-Up Exhibitions (Sept.30!), and the role Erin Hulburt ‘26 is stepping into as this year’s Collections Management Post-Baccalaureate Fellow.

Visit the Solarium Gallery from September 18-26 for an exhibition organized by HWS Archives Wells College Archival Collections at HWS that features Wells photographs and memorabilia.

The gallery is open Monday-Friday 9:30am-4:30pm and Saturday 1pm-3pm.

Please join us on Thursday, September 10 from 5-7pm in the Davis Gallery to celebrate the opening of ‘Dialogues: The Art and Architecture Faculty Featuring the HWS Art Collection’! The exhibition features artworks by Professor Christine Chin, Visiting Associate Professor Patrick Kana, Professor Nick Ruth, and Professor Phillia Yi alongside selections from the HWS Art Collection.

Curator remarks from students in the Studio Art Senior Seminar will begin at 5:30pm. A shuttle will loop between the Pulteney Street stop and Houghton House throughout the opening.

Can’t make it to the opening? Have no fear! The exhibition will be on view through Saturday, October 3. The gallery is open Monday through Friday 9:30-4:30 and Saturday 1-3.

We're celebrating Reunion Weekend 2026 with two exhibitions on view for two days only!

On view in the Davis Gallery will be 'Lives of Consequence: An Examination of HWS Alumni Service'. Curated by Julianna Thornburg '28 this exhibition examines the services stories of HWS alumni who served in organizations such as the Peace Corps, AmeriCorps, City Year, Teach for America, and more. This exhibition is in partnership with HWS CCESL.

On view in the Solarium Gallery will be 'On Maintaining Memory'. Curated by Audrie Fazio '25, the Collections Management Post-Baccalaureate Fellow, this exhibition is an inquiry into the stewardship of collective memory through the preservation, documentation and care of artworks.

The gallery is open June 5 & 6 10:30am-4:30pm.
