This September, young pioneers can experience the monumental history of the February 1733 landing at Yamacraw Bluff at the History Center! This immersive and multi-sensory learning experience will tell the story of how General James Oglethorpe, Chief Tomochichi, and cultural translator Mary Musgrove forged a legendary alliance that completely transformed the wild wilderness to make international colonial history.

Throughout the day, students will have the opportunity to interact with James Oglethorpe and rotate through dynamic, hands-on “History Hubs” designed to highlight the founding of Georgia as an epic story of teamwork, survival, and intercultural diplomacy.

Can’t make it this month? October is Appalachian Folklore & Hispanic Heritage Homeschool Day! Students can interact with Admiral David Farragut and explore how both Appalachian and Hispanic cultures share rich oral histories tied to the autumn harvest.
