Hidden Treasures, Local Talent
This fabulous exhibit featuring work from 60 local artists opens on Thursday, April 2, with the FREE Opening reception on Friday, April 10, 7-9 pm.

Gallery hours: Thurs-Sun, 12-5.

Held every two years, this community-focused exhibition invites artists of all ages and experience levels to participate, celebrating the diverse creative voices within the community.

The exhibition highlights a wide range of mediums, including ceramic, textiles, watercolor, oil and acrylic painting, printmaking, mixed media, and more. The artwork will explore a variety of themes and subjects, ensuring there will be something to inspire everyone.

The City of Fremont’s Olive Hyde Art Gallery is proud to present its 2026 open biennial exhibition Hidden Treasures, Local Talent. Held every two years, this community-focused exhibition invites artists of all ages and experience levels to participate, celebrating the diverse creative voices within the community.

This year, the Olive Hyde Art Gallery received more than double the number of submissions compared to 2024. The exceptional level of artistic talent and creativity within the community is truly remarkable, making the selection process this year especially competitive. From more than 120 applicants, 60 artists were selected to showcase their work. Of those selected artists, 26 are Olive Hyde Art Guild members.

The exhibition highlights a wide range of mediums, including ceramic, textiles, watercolor, oil and acrylic painting, printmaking, mixed media, and more. The artwork will explore a variety of themes and subjects, ensuring there will be something to inspire everyone.

With her collection of oil paintings, Veedell invites us to “slow down, look inward, and experience the quiet rhythms of the natural world”. Her paintings are inspired by real places but move beyond representation into atmospheric “meditations on memory, mood, and the traces of stillness,” harnessing soft light and utilizing it as a language of emotion. Paths and waterways appear throughout this body of work as a metaphor for our introspective journeys. In a fast-paced world, her collection offers peaceful respite – a “space to linger, to breathe, and to rediscover the quiet power of stillness and light”.

The City of Fremont’s Olive Hyde Art Gallery is proud to present Through the Photographer’s Eye, a collaboration with the Fremont Photographic Society, featuring captivating work by 18 of its members.

The exhibit opens today (Nov 6) and runs through Dec 20. The FREE Reception is on Friday, Nov 14, 7-9 pm. Come meet some of the photographers and enjoy their work!

The weekend kicks off with our ticketed Gala (just $20!) on Friday night, 5:30-9:00 pm -- food, wine, music, a drawing for an original painting by featured artist Edie Christensen, and first chance to pick up beautiful and unique hand-made items by local artists! The show & sale continues with free admission Saturday and Sunday, 10 am - 5 pm. Artwork includes ceramics, glass, fiber, wood, paintings, jewelry, holiday decór, and more!

Olive Hyde Art Guild readies for fundraiser show: Weekend sale and gala expected to draw 1,000 visitors

On Thursday, Sept. 25, we hosted a Beaded Bracelet Workshop: "Jewelry making for your creative soul!" with Colleen dela Torre.

The session began with Colleen leading participants through yoga stretches for their hands and wrists, to aid in flexibility.

Colleen shared beads collected during her travels and a variety of quirky charms. Each participant received a bracelet-making kit with a choice of beads like Rose Quartz, Adventurine and Unakite. She provided guidance on properly stringing beads and tying secure knots.

The atmosphere was one of focused activity and collaboration, with Colleen attending to each participant and ensuring everyone was progressing. The event concluded with several of the participants wearing their own bracelets.
