UMW Galleries The University of Mary Washington Galleries, comprised of Ridderhof Martin Gallery and duPont Galler This gallery is located at 1301 College Avenue.

The Ridderhof Martin Gallery hosts exhibitions brought in from museums around the country, or drawn from the permanent collection of over 5,000 works. The permanent collection is strongest in mid twentieth-century art and Asian art. The duPont Gallery features painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, ceramics, and textiles by art faculty, students, and other contemporary artists. This gallery is located inside duPont Hall at 1913 College Avenue.

Not that the 6 days of rain wasn’t much needed and beautiful, but we are just thankful that it’s clear and sunny for alumni weekend 😅♥️

We have our final chance to see “Mark and Method” ready for you in Ridderhof Martin Gallery and we hope you come by and check it out!

We are less that 3 weeks from the deadline!

If you are a painter in the Mid-Atlantic region (Delaware, D.C., Maryland, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia) we want you to submit your paintings!

DEADLINE TO APPLY IS MAY 15, 2026

This Friday, April 24 from 2-4pm in duPont Gallery, the seniors will be having their artist talk! Come celebrate them all and hear them talk about their work⭐️

Our regular hours are Wednesday-Sunday 10am-4pm.
We are always free and open to the public!

Tracy Stonestreet’s Museum Studies class welcomed an Elder Study visit yesterday with students who worked on the current exhibit “Mark and Method: Prints from the Bowman Collection” ⭐️

All those students put so much work into this exhibition it’s such a lovely thing to bring community in and answer questions and share knowledge about art 🩵

Our open hours are Wednesday-Sunday 10am-4pm! We hope to see you in and come learn about our exhibitions!

Welcome to UMW Galleries! We thought we would do a refresh of what we offer as we enter this beautiful weather ⭐️

UMW Galleries, comprised of Ridderhof Martin Gallery and duPont Gallery, is dedicated to advancing and promoting the arts education on campus and in the local community through collection, preservation, exhibition, and interpretation of works of art.

If you ever wanted to come visit, well great news, we have free admission and open to the public!

Hours:
Wednesday - Sunday | 10am - 4pm
(Closed during UMW holidays/breaks and in between exhibitions)

We also have our Visiting Artist and Speaker Lecture series that is also free and open to the public. We invite contemporary artists or art historians to campus to give a lecture on their research or art.

In conjunction with our exhibitions, we usually have a gallery talk from the artist who we are exhibiting.

We hope you come visit us and take in what we have to offer! We love to celebrate the arts and would love to celebrate with you!
