But, there is still time to get out of the house and go to Family Day at Artspiration, brought to you by the Barnstormers Committee of Frederick County Landmarks Foundation. See the plein art exhibit of Fredrick County Agricultural buildings, talk to the demonstrators, the chickens are waiting! Open until 5.

We are excited to share that several buildings have recently received an FCLF plaque!

"FCLF plaques are awarded to property owners of buildings and structures that are over 100 years of age, possess historical and/or architectural significance, and retain physical integrity. They recognize and encourage good stewardship."

Such as ... 101/103 East Fourth Street, now home to Plaque 461.

This building is two-story brick duplex building erected between 1888 and 1892. At one time 101 served as a grocery, the building maintains its storefront. And, on the alley side of the structure a visual representation of its commercial heritage remains. How great is that!

As you walk downtown Frederick, keep an eye out for buildings with an entryway highlighted with the black cast iron oval plaques representing the FCLF logo. There are, of course, plaqued buildings in the county but they are much more difficult to casually locate during an afternoon stroll. :)

2026 Oktoberfest at Schifferstadt will take place on October 17 and 18, 2026. The event serves as the annual fundraising event for Frederick County Landmarks Foundation and the Maryland Ensemble Theatre (MET). We are delighted to have the MET be our new partner this year.

We are always looking for volunteers!
As a volunteer, you are an integral part of creating a memorable experience for our attendees and get to experience the weekend from a new perspective! We encourage you to enjoy the event before or after your shift, enjoy the food, demonstrations, music, a tour of the museum, and, of course, kick off your holiday shopping by patronizing vendors selling unique arts and crafts.
