Chaplin Creek Village

Chaplin Creek Village Chaplin Creek Village was founded and supported by the Franklin Grove Area Historical Society. It sponsors events and the grounds are open by appointment.

Chaplin Creek Village is an evolving, full-scale historical restoration project depicting a prairie settlement typical of the middle 19th century. The village is being developed around a crossroads as many small communities did at that time. The name for the village, "Chaplin", comes from the first settlement in the area, which was just north of the historic site at the intersection of Lahman and State streets in the Village of Franklin Grove.

If you go through Franklin Grove today you will notice that the Lincoln Highway sign on Main street is being repaired.
The cement blocks being used were donated by the Lincoln Hwy Car Show that was held in town, some of the morter used was donated by the Franklin Grove Area Historical Society, The mural painting is being donated by Scott Spangler, the donation boxes put out for funds to help pay for construction costs and materials is a fund raiser put out by the Franklin Grove Area Historical Society to help support the Farming Heritage.
