Amboy Depot Museum

Amboy Depot Museum On the National Register of Historic Places The Amboy Depot Museum is a two-story brick and limestone building with eight distinctive chimneys.

It has nineteen rooms filled with items specific to the Illinois Central Railroad and local history. The Freight House and Palmer 1- room School House are also open to view. Admission is free. Donation is very welcome. Open April - October.

**💁🏻‍♀️ Vesta Stoudt , The Amboy Idea That Stuck!” **
Did you know that duct tape traces it origins to a WWII worker near Amboy?
Vesta worked at the Green River Ordnance Plant, and came up with a better way to seal ammunition boxes. It was an idea that helped lead to the development of Duct Tape!

**🏕️Campgrounds Around Amboy** This display explores the remarkable concentration of campgrounds surrounding our community, and their huge impact on the area’s summer population.
