Have a genealogy-filled summer! Below are a few ideas to get the family excited to learn about genealogy and local history. What are some other ideas you can think of?

● Learn about an ancestor who lived in North Texas (or a similar frontier area) in the 1850s, then visit the Log Cabin Village to learn about how that ancestor might have lived.
● Learn about an ancestor who worked on the railroad, then take a ride on the Grapevine Vintage Railroad.
● Learn about an ancestor who served in WWII, then visit the Fort Worth Aviation Museum to see the planes they flew.
● Learn about an ancestor who raised cattle, then attend one of the daily cattle drives of the Fort Worth Herd.
● Learn about a Revolutionary War patriot ancestor in advance of the many upcoming America250 celebrations!

We are honored to introduce our new friends, Casey Lartigue, Jr., Songmi Han, and Eunkoo Lee, visiting the area from South Korea! Songmi bravely escaped North Korea and has co-authored "Greenlight to Freedom: A North Korean Daughter's Search for Her Mother and Herself" with Casey.

Additionally, Casey and Eunkoo are the co-founders of Freedom Speakers International , a non-profit organization that, "empowers North Korean refugees by providing tuition-free, individualized mentorship in public speaking and English" and "helps refugees amplify their personal stories, advocate for human rights, and connect directly with the international community."

We loved spending time with y'all yesterday--thank you! ❀️
