📍While all of the action is in Greenwich this week for the Washington County Fair, we thought you might like to know that we have a piece of fair history right here at the museum: The Cronkhite Pavilion is the oldest surviving building from when the fairgrounds were between Fort Edward and Hudson Falls (1872-1933).

Before it was moved to the museum grounds, this building stood on Route 4, where the Washington County Municipal Center is now. In it's current location at our campus, it holds several exhibits including one on the history of the fair🎡

You have a few more days to visit our booth in the Community Life and Grange at the fair! And be sure to swing by the County Bounty Building to pick up your Museum Passport booklet from Washington County NY Tourism. It's the perfect guide to explore local history here and all across our county🗺️

We are all set up and ready for a great week at the Washington County Fair NY 🎡

Come see us the in Community Life and Grange Building starting tonight at 5 PM and every day this week from 10 AM to 10 PM (9 PM on Sunday)🙋‍♀️

We have a limited supply of Washington County NY Tourism 250th T-shirts for sale, don't miss your chance to snag one🏃‍♂️

We also have local history books, souvenirs, pottery, maps, prints, and post cards sale. All proceeds support our work to preserve history and promote education 📜

We are gearing up for an exciting week! The Fort Edward Historical Association has opportunities for you to engage with local history in two places all week long:

📜Museum tours are offered as usual, every day from 1 to 4 PM at 29 Broadway in Fort Edward, NY

🎡We are also at the Washington County Fair in the Community Living and Grange Building #28. We will have several local history displays, and our fundraising sale of local history books and other historical souvenirs.

Wherever you visit us this week, every purchase you make supports our mission to preserve history and promote education🗺️

We are bringing our plant sale to the Canal Street Marketplace tonight, Thursday, August 6th, from 4 to 7 PM. All plants are generously donated from Watkins Garden Center they are beautiful and healthy!

We are selling small singles and multipacks for $2-$5, Large planters for $20 and offering bundle discounts as well! All sales benefit our mission to preserve history and promote education!

Our work preserving history is not limited to our Museum Campus!

With our partners at the Town of Fort Edward, our summer interns regularly restore and repair any historical markers inside the town boundaries. This important work ensures that these sites are properly marked for all to experience local history 🗺️
