What did Folsom think of the Apollo 11 moon landing?

On this day, 57 years ago, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin descended to the lunar surface and became the first humans to walk on the Moon. Many people who lived in Folsom during the 1950s and 1960s worked for Aerojet in Rancho Cordova, and the sights and sounds of rocket testing were a common part of daily life during the height of the Space Race.

In the lead-up to the Apollo 11 mission, Aerojet General played a critical role in helping the astronauts return safely to Earth. The company designed and built the reaction control engines used on the Apollo Command Module, providing the precise bursts of thrust needed to orient the spacecraft in orbit, perform course corrections, and properly position it for reentry into Earth's atmosphere. Aerojet also supplied propulsion systems for other parts of the Apollo program, making the Folsom area an important contributor to one of humanity's greatest achievements.

Do you know someone who worked for Aerojet during the Space Race?
