We’ve recently gotten these tiny oil paintings by Addi Wolf back into the gallery! Addi has split her time between Floyd and Maine, so we are happy to have a part of her that stays in Floyd permanently!

Don’t they look great with Hona Knudsen’s pottery and Patrice Good’s crocheted shawl?

Hi friends! I’m here to spread the word about a small update to our open hours. Elliott and I have decided that Story Time at is worth coming in a little later on Tuesday! It is highly likely we will be in before noon, but just to ensure we’re not rushing, our hours will be 12-4 on Tuesday. We’re still open every day of the week! And I am always willing to stay late/open early, when I am able, to catch you if these hours just aren’t working for your schedule. Never hesitate to reach out!

A little update from Abby and Elliott! For the past month and a half we’ve been at the store Monday through Wednesday! It’s not always easy, but we’re having a great time together. Raising my son surrounded by handmade crafts is truly a gift. I hope grows to know and understand the importance of handmade in an ever more technology-centered world. We are lucky!

Such a serene scene with handmade pots by Wrenn Pottery, handwoven lavender eye pillows by Deanna Lynch, wooden candlestick holders by Christin Boy and screen printed tea towels by The High Fiber. It sure is nice to look around the shop and see how nicely all the pieces fit together.

Four new Susan Icove lamps are in stock! Each one is totally different from the next. Susan uses found objects to create these exceptionally interesting lamps with handmade lampshades. I love the bee paper used for the first lamp!

We added a new weaver to Troika not too long ago! Randie Felts, the Clarksville Weaver, makes gorgeous wraps and ponchos in a variety of colors. Great for cooler summer nights and the inevitable fall weather in a few months!

We are so pleased with how lovely the .ceramics display turned out. Yael’s pieces are very different from anything else we have in the shop, with the high contrast dark clay and white slip on organic forms. The three largest vessels were made with clay dug in Japan while Yael did a residency there.

Elliott’s first studio visit! We were so lucky to spend some time with .ceramics in Roanoke this afternoon. We picked up a slew of new pots to add to Troika. I saw Yael’s work at NCECA a few years ago and was in love… little did I know she would be moving into our area! Next week we will have a new display at Troika complete with the entire selection of Yael’s pots.

Sorry I haven’t posted on here in so long! Life has been so much bigger and smaller and faster and slower lately. I’m so grateful to have a team of ladies that have been taking great care of Troika while I’ve been gone. Elliott and I have been working in the shop here and there while we get used to life with him on the outside. I look forward to introducing you to this sweet guy!
