Sometimes the best way to learn about what’s ahead in Girl Scouts is to hear it from the girls who are already doing it.
This week, we welcomed Cadettes and a Junior from troops in Carver Girl Scouts to talk to our girls about their Silver Award, what it entails, and the higher awards they can work toward as they continue their Girl Scout journey. Hearing about these opportunities directly from older Scouts gave our girls a glimpse at all the things waiting for them as they grow.
Then it was time to get ready for the upcoming Veterans Day Parade! Our guests taught the girls about Color Guard, explained each of the flags, and showed them how to properly hold each flag and the correct angle to carry it. The girls practiced on getting into formation, keeping their flags in position, and learning how to keep pace and move together as a team.
A huge thank you to our visiting Girl Scouts for sharing their experiences and passing along these traditions to the next generation.
