Join us tonight for Our Common Purpose: Reinventing American Democracy for the 21st Century. A special panel discussion at Fairfield University, co-presented by the Fairfield Museum and The Regina A. Quick Center for the Arts at Fairfield University.
At a time of disruptive media, eroding trust in institutions, and deep political divides, American democracy might seem to be on the ropes. But across the political spectrum, many Americans are seeking ways to reconnect and renew their belief in the promise of the American story.
On Thursday, October 15, four distinguished voices from academia, public service, and civic life explore possible ways forward. Starting from the landmark report Our Common Purpose, they’ll explore ways to strengthen our democracy, find common ground, and tackle the challenges ahead.
This event is part of the Fairfield Museum’s commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.

🎤 Stephen Heintz, President Emeritus of the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, member of the Council on Foreign Relations and the Global Commission on Democracy
🎤 Stephanie Thomas, Connecticut Secretary of State
🎤 David McCullough III, founder of American Exchange Project, an innovative program which connects young Americans from different backgrounds
🎤 Aaron Weinstein, PhD, Fairfield University scholar specializing in the ways secular and religious thought shape American politics
