The Garden paths wind around secluded benches, a lily pond and bird baths up to her home which she beautifully covered with stones she collected.

Ribbit! 🐸 We have a resident American Bullfrog in our lily pond. He’s enjoying the lily pads and has decided he quite likes it here. I don’t know the journey he went on to find our pond, but he’s been here for a couple years now.

Also, we have a water lily blooming today.

These next few days and probably few weeks will be hot! Temperatures in the upper 90s to 100 and “real feel” temperatures being in the 100s. Everyone take care and stay hydrated. If you are planning a visit to the Castle, I advise to come early for health and safety (yours and mine). I also have more energy and am more pleasant when I haven’t been sitting outside for six hours 😂.

Good news is that the bees and other pollinators are enjoying the late summer flowers.

It’s a wonderfully cool day for the 1st of August. Reminiscent of fall, even though the hottest is yet to come.

Surprise! These are known as Surprise Lilies or Naked Ladies. They have their leaves in the Spring at the same time as Daffodils, but then their flower will pop up on a bare stalk at the end of July into August.

We are under a heat advisory today and tomorrow, each from noon until 8pm. Everyone stay hydrated and if you are planning a trip to the Castle, I recommend visiting in the morning. Be safe!
