In September 1995, Leonardo’s Children’s Museum opened thanks to our amazing founders Helen Mary Walker Garriott and Owen Garriott, the Enid Arts Council, and countless volunteers. Since then, approximately 70,000-80,000 guests visit every year, making it one of NW OK’s most popular attractions. There is 100+ hands-on activities for children and families to enjoy inside our museum! Much like our namesake Leonardo da Vinci, we pride ourselves on being a place where art and science meet and hope to inspire the artists and scientists of the future. It was made possible by 12,000 volunteers and 150,000 volunteer hours! The three-story wooden castle features bridges, slides, swings, mazes, a water table, dinosaur dig, and tot lot. Today, it remains the world’s largest community built outdoor playground. We are open Tuesday-Saturday 11am-6pm. Adventure Quest is always open weather permitting. Guests 15 years old and under must be accompanied by an adult that is 16+. Paid admission is required for everyone over the age of 1. 1 supervisor/adult per 5 children. No child or supervisor/adult is permitted to enter the museum alone due to safety reasons. Leonardo’s is a 501c3 non-profit organization governed by the Enid Arts & Sciences Foundation, volunteer board of directors and of course, operated by a committed staff of employees and volunteers.
