🚒 IN MEMORIAM — DANIEL HANLON #49

It is with great sadness that the members of IAFF Local 4790 mourn the passing of retired Carpentersville Fire Department member Daniel Hanlon, Badge #49, who passed away on September 22, 2026.

Brother Hanlon was hired full-time by the Carpentersville Fire Department on May 3, 1999. During his time with the department, he proudly served the citizens of Carpentersville and was a valued member of our fire service family.

Daniel’s career was cut short when he was pensioned off on May 21, 2008, after nine years of service due to a line-of-duty disability. Although his time on the job was shorter than anyone would have hoped, the impact of his service and his place in the history of the Carpentersville Fire Department will not be forgotten.

The fire service is more than a job — it is a brotherhood that connects generations of firefighters. Once a member of our department, always a member of our family.

Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with Daniel’s family, friends, former coworkers, and all those who knew and loved him.

Rest easy, Brother Hanlon. Your service will be remembered.
