DID YOU KNOW? Before he was the familiar dad on Father Knows Best or the caring doctor on Marcus Welby, M.D., Robert Young was Ann Sothern’s leading man in Maisie (1939)!

Young plays “Slim” Martin, a Wyoming ranch manager whose life gets complicated when Maisie arrives. Come see a familiar television favorite in his earlier movie days!

DID YOU KNOW? Before Ann Sothern made Maisie her own, MGM originally planned the project for Jean Harlow! Following Harlow’s death in 1937, it was put on hold until Sothern stepped into the role in 1939—launching a series of ten Maisie films.

Discover where it all began with Maisie on Tuesday, November 3, from 2–4 p.m., part of SAHPS’s Silver Screen showings from the Michael G. Fitzgerald Collection!

Think you know The Munsters?

TONIGHT, meet the family BEFORE they became the characters we know and love!

We’re digging into our Michael G. Fitzgerald Collection to bring you the original, unaired Munsters pilot—a lesser-known short we’ll show before our main feature, House of Dracula!

Did you know? Herman’s wife was originally named “Phoebe,” played by Joan Marshall instead of Yvonne De Carlo. Eddie was played by Nate “Happy” Derman before Butch Patrick took over. And this early pilot was filmed in COLOR!

Come spot the differences and catch a glimpse of what The Munsters almost became!

Join us TONIGHT, Saturday, October 24, at the Gallery of History Museum, 412 E. Faulkner Street in El Dorado.

- 6 PM — Creature Feature festivities begin
- The Munsters short screens at 6:30 PM to lead into our main feature, House of Dracula
- 8–10 PM — Live music and street dancing with the Boomer Hill

Did you know John Carradine wanted Dracula to have a BIG, drooping mustache?

The “House of Dracula” star wanted his Count to look more like the character in Bram Stoker’s novel. Universal insisted on a neatly trimmed version instead. Apparently, even Dracula had to follow the studio’s grooming rules!

Catch Carradine’s Count tomorrow Saturday, October 24, at Creature Feature! “House of Dracula” starts outdoors at 6:30 PM at the Gallery of History Museum in El Dorado.

Free admission—bring your lawn chair and your fellow fright fans!

Did you know the “mad doctor” in “House of Dracula” starts out trying to HELP the monsters?

Onslow Stevens plays Dr. Franz Edelmann, a kindly physician trying to cure Dracula and the Wolf Man. His good intentions take a sinister, Jekyll-and-Hyde-style turn! Stevens even earned praise from The Hollywood Reporter for his performance back in 1945.

Talk about a rough day at the office!

Meet the doctor this Saturday, October 24, at Creature Feature. The outdoor screening starts at 6:30 PM at the Gallery of History Museum in El Dorado.

Free admission—bring your lawn chair. No appointment necessary to see the Doctor!

Did you know the quicksand in “House of Dracula” (1945) gave Frankenstein’s Monster a REAL chilling experience?

Actor Glenn Strange recalled spending hours buried in cold liquid mud while filming—even staying put when the crew left for lunch! That’s one way to get stuck at work.

Catch his muddy moment this Saturday, October 24, at Creature Feature! The outdoor screening starts at 6:30 PM at the Gallery of History Museum in El Dorado.

Free admission! Bring your lawn chair—we promise a much more comfortable seat.
